Last August, two International hearts united in marriage here at Ringers Rest Functions Venue. Bruno (from France) + Katy (from England) met abroad whilst traveling and having chosen Australia as their new homeland, felt it was the perfect setting for their family & friends to join them here in celebration of their love for each other.
We had SO much fun supporting Bruno + Katy in their dream wedding and adding the quintessential Australian, down-to-earth elements to make their day simply unique.
Bruno + Katy sincerely wanted to have full input into all elements of their wedding from mining for the gold to make their own wedding bands (with help from dear local friends) to bringing together all the little touches in their decorations - all self-sourced and compiled with love by themselves and family, friends too.
Their intimate reception, of around 40 guests, was warm and full of life... I think there was only ever 4 people at any one time, having a rest from the dance floor all evening!
Yes, from the moment they first visited and felt at home here in the bush, to their special day...and...them popping in for a visit 6 months later, we are so overjoyed that we could make their wedding day be all that they desired and reflect the love they hold so dearly for each other.
Warmest regards,
Tammy, Dave, Barbara & Marco xxxx

Wedding Reflections...
Favourite memory from the wedding:
The fun photoshoot in the big, beautiful, open field when the sun broke through the clouds and bathed us and everything in this incredible, warm and golden light and the first dance which was improvised, fun and kind of funny! oops that's 2 !
What was the inspiration of the colours/style/theme for your wedding?
The theme was relaxed/ rustic/ Australian bush. I chose an Indian wedding dress as I love Indian fabrics and elements of the Indian culture. I have spent a total of 2 months in India and have always wanted an Indian dress so this was the perfect occasion to get one! A lot of Indian brides wear red which symbolises love. Bruno wanted something light and simple, not the traditional black/ dark tux, the cravat was chosen to tie in with my dress and the waist coat is a gift from a good friend in Alice Springs who bought it second hand so its very retro and has a story.
Your advice to those planning a wedding now?
Be organised because you underestimate how much organisation goes into even a small and simple wedding like ours. Write lists, lists and lists! There is a lot of things you can do yourself, it does not need to be expensive. Above all, don't stress and have fun !
Tell us about your decision to have your wedding at Ringers Rest?
We loved Ringers Rest as soon as we saw it, as it captures one of the many aspects of Australia that we really love - the iconic, Australian bush. We loved its rustic-ness, no fuss ethos, spaciousness, outdoor venue but with a shelter, beautiful gum trees and nature, and fire pit. We also felt instantly at ease with Tammy and its other owners, Dave, Barbara and Marco who are all great people.
What was “the best decision you made” with regards to your wedding day?
To get married at Ringers Rest, and really personalise the wedding to who we are without feeling the need to confirm to any traditions that we didn't want to conform to.
